I have a great aunt whose birth name was Adolphena Katherine Trautvetter. Apparently as a child she went by Kate and as an adult she want by Pheenie. Nicknames can change–and not just back to the “original” name.

  1. I have an Adolphus Trautvetter in my family tree. Born around the mid 1860’s. Married and died in NZ. Could there be a connection with your Adolphena? Email me.
    Regards
    John

    • Do you know where she was born? The Adolphena in the post was born and died in Illinois and her father was from Thuringen, Germany.
