There is a chance that if the godmother of my aunt’s child was a relative of my aunt and her sister.   1. I’m not aware of any godparents in my family, which includes many different denominations. In which denominations is one likely to see godparents? Apparently Church of England/Episcopal (e.g. the Royal Family), but who else?

    • Denominations that practice infant baptism are ones where godparents are most likely. In some particularly congregations or ethnic groups the godparents may be parents–in others other family members or close friends of the parents.
