Only a very small fragment of the 1890 US census is available. The vast majority of the schedules were burned and destroyed. 6,160 names remain. They were microfilmed and can be searched at FamilySearch. More information on the 1890 census can be found in Spring 1996 issue of Prologue.

Ok, so the 1890 census not only were burned where these were kept but they were also burned in Missouri as well. Unless these were the same censuses.

Some of the census survived. The Warren County, Mississippi enumerator for the 1890 census of Civil War soldiers recorded the Confederates as well. Now I know where my G-Grandfather was in 1890!
