Don’t forget to organize digital images you make of records as soon as you can.

You will forget. Life will intervene. You’ll be glad you did.

I just realized today that digital images of a court case I made in 2009 are lost. They may be on my back up storage, but they didn’t get organized and filed appropriately after I made them.

Don’t delay. Don’t wait.

Don’t put it off.

  1. Thanks for the reminder! I’m notoriously bad about this. The files don’t get lost because I keep them all in a folder for scans, with a dated subfolder for each day’s scans, but I’m bad about not renaming the files and “processing” the data from them. I have scans dating back way more years than I care to admit. I really should stop doing new research until I do something with all of them.
