Franklen Tammen.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Franklen (actually most likely Franken given where the Tammens were from) could have been Elka\u2019s maiden name, middle name, or married name with a previous husband.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"735\" height=\"205\" src=\"https:\/\/genealogytipoftheday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/elkatammen.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13875\" srcset=\"https:\/\/genealogytipoftheday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/elkatammen.jpg 735w, https:\/\/genealogytipoftheday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/elkatammen-300x84.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 735px) 100vw, 735px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I should include in my notes on Elka that she is referred to as \u201cElka B. Franklen Tammen\u201d in her husband\u2019s 1895 will. I should not enter that as her maiden name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using it for a clue to other relatives when searching is advised. But there\u2019s not really good evidence in this will that it\u2019s her maiden name.
