Many state statutes are available digitally online and a search for them can be started in <a href=\"http:\/\/advancinggenealogist.com\/laws-and-statutes-index\/\">this list of links at the <\/a><em><a href=\"http:\/\/advancinggenealogist.com\/laws-and-statutes-index\/\">Advancing Genealogist<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do not assume both parents were deceased if someone has a legal guardian appointed.
