Sister-in-law or brother-in-law are two of those relationships. I have a sister-in-law who is my brother\u2019s wife and another sister-in-law who is my wife\u2019s sister. Had my wife\u2019s brother married, his wife would also have been my sister-in-law. Keep in mind that for some relationships, \u201cin-law\u201d or \u201cstep\u201d may never be used when describing the relationship.
