- full brothers,
- half brothers, or
- step brothers
The majority of the time, “brother” does indicate a biological relationship. But there are exceptions.

Some church bodies refer to members as brother or sister so and so.
I encountered anothe reference for brother. My Ukrainian speaking cousins call their cousins brother (or sister). It must be the differences between English and Ukrainian translation.
