Do you always read and understand what is crowded into the edge or bottom of a document? If something is squeezed into a small space, there is probably a reason. Sometimes that reason is  a legal banality and other times it is a genealogical gem.

You won’t know if you don’t read it and determine what it means.

    • I once found a woman listed on line 3 on a manifest with her 3 children listed underneath her. her married name was the name I thought I was looking for, underneath her name in fine pencil script said; ” line 16 sister”. Sister on line 16 was not married, under her name in pencil script read; ” line 3 sister” . I found the married woman”s name maiden. I was also looking for this name. What a find, I also found their fathers name listed on the single womans line 16.
