Initial letters or prefixes of names can be intentionally or inadvertently omitted, with:
- Knight becoming Night
- Hoffman becoming Aufmann
- O’Neill becoming Neill
- MacArthur becoming Arthur
- Van De Burg becoming Berg
- etc.
