Henry Smith leaves a widow and eight children when he dies in 1820. It is possible that she is the mother of all his children, some of his children, or none of his children.
Simply surviving him does not make her the mother of all his children.

Leon Selwyn “Frank” Shaver married two sisters and a best friend. Wife 1 was the sister to Wife 2, the woman who nursed Wife 1 became Wife 3. All of his issue were brothers and sisters, or half-brothers and half-sisters, and ALL WERE cousins to each other from the two sisters. Wife 3 raised and/or cared for three of the siblings of Wife 2.
