When searching databases that contain full text of obituaries, make certain to search for the names of living family members who may have been listed as survivors in the obituary.
Don’t just search obituaries for the dead.

Thanks very much for your comments, Patty.
This is my primary reason for doing obituary searches
I’ve had good results using obituaries in tracing the descendants of the deceased. I’ve noticed that in older newspapers (before the age of computers) there are more errors in the survivor listings.
