A recent review of the obituaries in my rural, home-town newspaper indicated one of the deceased was a native of New York City. That’s fairly atypical for where I am from and, at the risk of being frank, something of a culture shock. I wondered what brought her from New York as the obituary didn’t hint at a reason.
