NotebookLM at Google
Easily create audio and video overviews, mind maps, reports, quizzes, infographics, and slide decks from your uploaded family or personal narratives, genealogy documents, and the like. You can also have NotebookLM integrate multiple documents into one summary. There are limitations to it. NotebookLM is not perfect by a long shot, but it may give you insight into your own research and cause you to notice something you had not noticed before. The visuals it creates can help interest others in family history as well.
We will take a responsible genealogical approach to using NotebookLM and not let enthusiasm for it cause us to put aside sound genealogical methods. It is a tool and like any tool and needs to be used carefully and judiciously. We won’t necessarily agree with all the conclusions it reaches, but thinking about its insights and trying to prove/disprove them or analyze them further may enhance our research in ways we did not expect. It can be another tool in our genealogical arsenal.
