Can you remember the last historical fact you learned? If you can’t, maybe it’s been too long since you learned something about the history of where your ancestors lived.

Not knowing history really hinders your genealogical efforts.

  1. Last night I attended a three hour lecture and tour of the War of 1812 and the veterans of that war who lived in Windham, NH. I learned a lot about New Hampshire during the war. Everyone should attend occasional lectures like this. There is always something new to learn, (even if you think you know all there is about the War of 1812).
