When you are looking at old pictures that were likely not taken by a professional photographer, do you think of who the likely photographer was?

  1. Absolutely! Fortunately, I’ve known some of the most likely (and prolific) of our family photographers in three generations, some of whom also compiled their own albums and slide collections – so captions, locations and likely occasions can be compared and/or verified. Very glad that I personally thought to label my own wedding photos as to who took the pictures – I’m old enough that we had disposable cameras liberally available and made what seemed like an insane and “expensive” number of prints developed for all attendees. BUT…for some reason I never went ahead with identifying everyone in the photos – so thank you for that realization, forty years on!
